Course DescriptionThe highest demand for employment over the next five years will be in the Community Services sector, including Early Childhood Education. This rewarding pathway offers security and long term employment prospects for those who have a genuine compassion to work with children. This program is also ideal as a lead in to further study including Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care, and Bachelor of Education. For successful 2021 Early Childhood Education & Care applicants MADEC will provide: - Bridging units if required - Adult VET learning environment - Course materials and workbooks - MADEC Learner Support Services - (LSS provides Case Management to help students address life, learning and other issues) - Stress management strategies and supports - School Holidays study group supported by a qualified MADEC Trainer (Facilitated at MADEC Christies Beach, 111 Beach Rd on Wednesdays)

Entry RequirementsTraining Priority List (TPL) - Displays qualifications the Department for Innovation and Skills will subsidise. To be eligible for a TPL training place, students must live or work in South Australia, and be: - an Australian or New Zealand citizen - a permanent Australian resident, or - an eligible visa holder and: - 16 years or over and not enrolled at school, or - 16 years, or turning 16 years in Year 11, enrolled in school and undertaking training through the Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS), or - undertaking training through a training contract as a trainee. Suitability and eligibility must be confirmed prior to enrolment. If applying under TGSS: From January 2021, students who turn 16 in Year 11 will be able to access subsidised training from the beginning of the school year. Students must also have undertaken (or currently be undertaking) a VET course related to the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care OR have undertaken (or be undertaking) work placement or employment (including voluntary or paid) related to the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care. All students applying must also be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills adequate to commence this Certificate III level qualification (minimum ACSF Exit level 2 for Reading and Numeracy); or be willing to undertake Bridging Units if recommended.

Minimum of 120 hours of structured work placement in at least one regulated education and care service (aligned to training package requirements). *Please note that should the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113) training package undertake change then subsequently units of competency, nominal hours, and placement requirements may also change.
